I would just like to welcome everyone to a location where we can supply emotional support for those of us learning the difficult instrument called the violin. A place where we can share miseries, music and tips while consuming large volumes of wine (which coincidentally improves my playing).

Well, thank God for this support group. I have been dragging my heels about practicing this week - lots of conflicting things like boys home from college (cleaning out my fridge so that I might as well work at Wegmans for all the time I spend there), and the scads of appointments that filled this week off from school. However, because of all your support, I will quit whining and open the case. Maybe play a few cords, as the boys are off on an errand. THANK YOU!!!!

Important Music Tip: Only take one music book to practice. Presently I have Book 2 (I know, how depressing to still be in book 2), an Attitude book (Miss L pronounces it differently but I have an attitude when I can't play it correctly) and a Suzuki book and for some reason, Miss L feels I should have pieces from all three books to practice. I have plenty to practice with only one. So remember, only show up with one book.
On a completely different note, we went to see Mr. Perlman last night at the Eastman Theater. WOW. He was impressive and the students backing him up were awesome too. I'm glad I went.
